Jefferson Regional Earns National 2009 Patient Safety Excellence Award and is Five Star Rated in Heart Failure Treatment, Respiratoty Failure Treatment,and Treatment of Pneumonia - April 7 Name Change Becomes Official - December 18 After more than 50 years as the healthcare leader in Jefferson County, the board and administration announced a reorganization and new identity for Jefferson Memorial Hospital effective Jan. 1, 2009. The hospital will be known as Jefferson Regional Medical Center operated by a new Missouri nonprofit corporation named Jefferson Health System. “The name change to Jefferson Regional Medical Center is indicative of the growth and success of the facility,” said president and CEO Lloyd Ford Jr., PhD, FACHE. “We acknowledge with great pride the accomplishments and contributions of the community in creating a tremendous institution, and this change is about moving forward and building on their foundation.” Jefferson Regional Medical Center will be the primary business operation for Jefferson Health System, along with two new nonprofit corporations, Jefferson Memorial Hospital Foundation and Jefferson Physician Network. A fourth entity, Jefferson Health Ventures will be a for profit corporation, which will engage in those support activities that are not appropriate for nonprofit businesses. “The name Jefferson Regional Medical Center more adequately describes what our community hospital has become,” said Dennis Gannon, president of the board of directors. “The latest cancer treatments, the best pulmonary care in the metropolitan area, and world-class cardiac care are all here at Jefferson Regional. Those services are being accessed by local patients as well as many from far beyond Jefferson County’s borders.” Symbolism of New Logo 
New Logo for Jefferson Regional Medical Center includes specific symbolism The Jefferson Regional Medical Center and Jefferson Health System logo features a symmetrical cross as its main component reflecting the importance of exceptional healthcare in our strategies. The logo’s dark blue color is a reference to the blue that has been used as the hospital’s main color scheme since it was founded more than 50 years ago. The addition of green to the logo as an accent color symbolizes growth for the future.
